Vertical vs. Regular vs. A-Frame Roofs: Which Steel Roof Is Right for You?
By Dana Ruiz
Every metal building starts with a roof decision. The three common styles — regular, A-frame (boxed eave), and vertical — differ in how the panels run and how water and snow shed off.
Regular roof Panels run horizontally across the building. It's the most economical option and works well for shorter carports in mild climates.
A-frame roof A boxed-eave peak with horizontal panels — a more finished look at a modest upcharge.
Vertical roof Panels run top-to-bottom so rain, snow, and debris slide off the ends. We recommend vertical roofs on any building longer than 36 feet or in snow country.
